"Cause what you got is Gold! I know you're gold. Oh, I know, I know I don't need the stars in the night. I found my treasure ... All I need is you by my side. So shine forever ... "
Lyrics by Adam Young (Owl City)
Music Theme picture No. 21
(... I'm totally on an Owl City trip ...) Here it comes. Another quickie picture for my 50-Music Theme challenge I guess if I'm going to show you the track Owl City - Gold I guess it explains itself.
WARNING RANT! It's always a mystery for me why YouTube doing this nonsense and put most of the latest songs of Owl City a semitone higher So this instrumental version has the actual and correct tones and I'm not able to find other videos. Curse you GEMA!!!
... end of rant ...
Anyway, I just wanted to draw something SonAmy related. Enjoy the Sonamyness.
I don't see alot of Super Sonic merged with Sonamy, but of what I've seen, this is stunning. the Earth below looks like a stress ball, with the continents rasied. the large glow of light is intresting; but it seems to draw some attention away from the main picture - Super Sonic and Amy. The space background could be darker, or include more black, otherwise it's a great interpitation of a nebula.
I love the soft glow around Sonic and Amy, and how you've fused the two colours. Plus, the fact that amy has her on "super" glow is intresing and original, as far as I know. The detail on thier faces and upper bodies aids to bring the attention of the viewer to the content of this image. Lastly, the pose is adorable, it's just beautiful.
I have seen plenty of SonAmy fanart, and I have seen my fair share of Super Sonic fanart, but this is the first one that both puts them together and captures my attention.
First of all, I'm sure many people may ask, "Why is Amy glowing? She doesn't have a Super transformation!" Well, believe it or not folks, there is a series of hacks for Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles that replaces Sonic with Classic Amy as a playable character, complete with Piko Piko Hammer AND working Super transformations. Look them up on SonicRetro!
Getting back to the main topic, this artwork takes both a typical pairing and Sonic's signature superpower and weaves them into an otherworldly image that seems to smoothly blend both the mystery and infinity of outer space with (ONLY for this image) the purity and power of true love, which can be seen in how Super Sonic and Super Amy's auras and contrails weave together as they fly away from Mobius. The glare of the sun behind Mobius seems to enhance the overall glowing effect of the image, making both super hedgehogs really shine in this picture.
Long story short: A shiny masterpiece of one of SEGA's most popular pairings, Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose!

I truly hope you keep up this brilliant work.
